Ladrôme propolis syrup has been produced to prevent and alleviate the body slumps caused by a weakened natural defense system (cold, humidity, stress). The benefits of propolis have been known for millennia. Propolis comes from the resinous substance collected by bees in the buds of certain trees (mainly birch, poplar, willow and various conifers). In the cold, propolis is solid and friable. It becomes soft at a temperature above 30ºC and melts at around 60ºC to 70ºC. The color of propolis changes from yellow to black, passing through all the shades of brown. It has an aroma that varies according to its origin: in general, the smell of honey or wax is always noticeable, although other aromas are added to it depending on the origin of the buds that the bees visit. The bees mix the resin collected in the buds with their own salivary secretion as well as with beeswax and pollen, which produces propolis. Propolis is both a building material and a defense barrier for bees. Bees use it to reinforce the structure of the hive and seal it, thus protecting it from the external aggressions of winter, germs, bacteria and other parasites. All surfaces of the hive are covered with propolis.
